Weekly Review: House Whip Steve Scalise and Minority Leader
Nancy Pelosi Make CD 7 Visits
Scalise Does Public Rally, While Pelosi Hides at Big Dollar Fundraiser
Orlando, FL — Last week, the contrast could not have been more obvious. Two people vying to be the next Speaker of the House, the second position of power behind our president in our country’s government, visited Florida’s 7th congressional district in Seminole and Orange counties.
Majority Whip Steve Scalise hosted a public rally in Orlando to campaign for Mike Miller, while Nancy Pelosi hid under a cover of darkness for a private big dollar fundraiser, and failed to host a single public event.
“When asked about party boss Nancy Pelosi being in her district, Congresswoman Murphy, seemed to be conveniently out of the loop. Her office said, ‘You’ll have to ask Nancy Pelosi, we don’t know,’ “said Miller Campaign Manager, Alex Bolton.
Nancy Pelosi is so unpopular and toxic with voters that even her favorite handpicked candidates must keep her at an arm’s length distance. But everybody knows it’s just another example of Stephanie Murphy saying one thing and doing another – like when she says in Central Florida that she’s a moderate, but goes to Washington and votes nearly 90% of the time with Pelosi.
Let’s back up though and see if her denial even make sense.
“In 2016, it is widely reported that Nancy Pelosi recruited Stephanie Murphy to run for Congress. Then, Pelosi raised money for Murphy’s campaign and Murphy rewarded Pelosi with her vote for Speaker of the House. Moving into this election cycle, Nancy Pelosi has given the maximum amount allowed, $14,000 from her leadership PAC and campaign committee to support Murphy. And now Stephanie Murphy claims to have no knowledge of whether Pelosi is even in her Congressional District – it doesn’t even pass the laugh test,” added Bolton.
